Ryan Garcia‘s rollercoaster week hit another bump on Saturday night. The boxing star was escorted out of the Honda Center in California after watching his brother lose. Garcia attended the fight to support his younger sibling, Sean Garcia. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for the Garcia family.

Sean suffered his first professional loss against Amado Vargas. The referee stopped the bout in the sixth round, deeming Sean unfit to continue. As soon as the fight ended, security rushed Ryan Garcia out of the arena. Witnesses reported an altercation between Garcia and some fans in the crowd.

This incident comes on the heels of a controversial week. Just days earlier, Garcia was expelled from the WBC for making racial and Islamaphobic slurs. He then issued a bizarre apology, claiming he was heading to rehab. ‘King Ry’ couldn’t resist taking a shot at the Vargas family after the fight. He tweeted a backhanded congratulations, boasting he could easily knock out Amado and his brothers.

The elder Garcia brother then complained about leaving rehab for the event. Garcia’s talent in the ring is undeniable, but his actions outside the ropes have recently overshadowed his boxing career. This all came crashing down after testing positive for Ostarine after the Devin Haney fight.

Sean Garcia faces first professional loss against Amado Vargas

Sean Garcia, younger brother of controversial boxer Ryan Garcia, was part of the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal undercard. The younger Garcia brother missed weight by 3 pounds, the same as his brother did against Devin Haney. Both fighters came out swinging from the opening bell, setting a steady pace. Amado Vargas is the son of former world champion Fernando Vargas.

Vargas quickly gained the upper hand, racking up an impressive lead on punch stats as the fight progressed. In the fourth round, Vargas scored a knockdown that shifted the momentum decisively. Garcia showed tremendous heart, getting back to his feet and battling on.

Vargas continued to dominate in the fifth and sixth rounds. Midway through the sixth, the referee had seen enough. He stepped in to save Garcia from further punishment, ending the fight. It was a tough pill to swallow for Sean, who entered the bout with a 7-0-1 record. His only previous blemish was a majority draw in South Korea.

Despite the loss, Sean Garcia showed admirable grit and determination in the ring. He has plenty of time to bounce back from this setback, as he is just 23. As for Amado Vargas, this victory will surely boost his profile in the boxing world. He is following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a formidable fighter.
