Ryan Garcia is under fire for being the world’s most controversial combat sports athlete at present. Garcia recently went viral for making Islamophobic and racist statements on the internet. As expected, the boxer is now facing the consequences of his words, especially from the boxing community.

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman announced the news on X, citing Garcia’s unusual social media behavior. According to Sulaiman, WBC expelled Garcia for his discriminatory opinions. Sulaiman also revealed reaching out to ‘King Ry‘ for help, but the boxer declined any such help.

Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse.

From being one of the biggest faces in boxing, Garcia faces a ban from his sport. The New York State Athletic Commission suspended Garcia for a year last month.  His victory over Devin Haney on April 20 was declared a no-contest after he tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.

In the run-up to the Haney fight, concerns were expressed about Garcia’s strange behavior in person and on social media. This attracted a series of conspiracy theories, with many asking Garcia to take help. Garcia later cleared the air by saying it was all an act to confuse Haney. However, it appears not to be the case.
