Ryan Garcia always tends to wear a crown after his big fights, which reflects on his ring name, ‘KingRy’. However, this time for the Devin Haney fight, Garcia made very elaborate preparations for his crown. As such, Garcia made an iced-out Crown, which was worth a whopping $1 million. The custom diamond crown also has gems and 400-carat diamonds.
The luxury jeweler ‘Ice Champ’ who made the custom crown also revealed that the crown was made with 27 sky-blue topaz stones. In addition, it was also made with one kilo of gold and 15,000 VVS-clarity diamonds. Ice Champ also revealed that the crown is valued at a whopping $1 million and costs half a million to make. Furthermore, the custom order took 10 days to make and was presented in a luxurious velvet chest.
The crown was worn by Ryan Garcia during his ring walk, and he again wore it after he won the fight via majority decision. It reflected how the young boxer was confident in his ability to emerge victorious against the undefeated boxer.
Garcia even lost a $1.5 million bet against Haney. This happened when Garcia promised to pay $500k per pound that he missed in the weigh-ins. However, this expenditure was nothing compared to what Garcia is expected to earn.
Garcia calls out critics for doubting him
Garcia delivered his best performance against his amateur boxing rival, Haney. This was surprising since, before the fight, the young boxer had raised concerns among fans around the world. Subsequently, it was because of his wild social media antics and bizarre weigh-in antics.
Garcia missed the weight for the super-lightweight fight by just 3.2 pounds. As such, Devin Haney‘s title could not be won by Garcia. Furthermore, up until this point, people believed that Garcia was not taking the fight seriously and was having a mental breakdown. After the fight, he responded to this by stating:
Come on guys, you really thought I was crazy?Ryan Garcia post-fight interview
KingRy clearly had the last laugh after all the doubts that were directed at him. The young boxer maintained that the issues he brought up were real and that he was bringing attention to them. Furthermore, he fired at critics for hating on him and calling him overrated.
