Ryan Garcia’s victory over Devin Haney has been marred by reports of a failed drug test for Ostarine. Garcia stepped into the ring as a significant underdog, carrying three pounds more weight, making it impossible for him to claim Haney’s WBC Super-Lightweight Championship. Furthermore, after several doubts before the fight, further doubts about his mental health began to surface.

He won the fight by a majority decision on April 20. Subsequently, reports emerged that he tested positive for the anabolic agent, Ostarine the day before the fight and the day after. He denied this and lashed out at corruption, claiming Haney’s party manipulated the tests. Furthermore, Garcia asked for a B-sample to be analyzed. However, American sports writer, Dan Rafael now confirms that the substance was found again.

Now it’s up to the NYSAC Garcia to have the opportunity to explain what was in his body, present proof of contamination, or maintain his innocence. In the A sample, Garcia had also tested positive for norandrosterone. However, it was later revealed that this was not the case after further inspection. However, both the A and B samples of his drug test show signs of Ostarine.

Ryan Garcia responds to a positive drug test

In response to the news, Garcia posted several screenshots of his X on his Instagram account. The rising star stated that he doesn’t care if he never makes any money from boxing again. Furthermore, he remarked that it would be a loss for everyone, not just him.

This is mainly because Garcia has earned a lot of money through his illustrious career. Hence, KingRy appears to be optimistic on the whole, but in all probability, things are not looking good for him in the near future.

KingRy has previously said there is a plot going on that led to these incorrect test results. The combat sports world awaits the NYSAC’s decision on what type of suspension or punishment he’s likely to take next.
