The 2025 Ryder Cup tickets became the talking point in the golf community when the prices were first revealed. The previous edition tickets cost around $255. This sharp rise from $255 to $750 was not welcomed by the fans.
When asked about this high price, Bryan Karns, PGA of America’s championship director claimed that the tournament was a “Tier 1 event” while calling it on par with a MLB World Series or NBA Finals Game 7.
We view ourselves as a Tier 1 event that’s on par with a World Series, or with an NBA Finals Game 7. That was a part of it. So when we look at pricing, we’re able to tap into data from all these different venues. There are people who have the Ryder Cup on their bucket list in the same way someone would have a Yankees opening game of the World Series on their bucket list. Ultimately that’s where we felt like we are.

Social media reactions towards Ryder Cup tickets getting sold out
Fans on social media were left absolutely stunned by the news of Ryder Cup tickets getting sold out. They would blast the PGA of America for their ticket allotment system.

Several fans claimed that they were selected in the random draw but they were unable to buy tickets as most of them had already sold out. One fan pointed out that the ticket price went up to $1,316. Another fan called out this development as a “disgraceful rip off” while explaining how traveling, food, and parking takes the total cost over $1,000.

This is a joke. I was selected for the random draw, but everything that was available was already resell tickets. All the tickets are face value were bought by sponsors.

It’s an incredible event and next year will be huge but those prices are insulting to the general population.

While the fans were already angry regarding the price, another development regarding the Ryder Cup has left them speechless. As per reports from The Telegraph, the U.S. players could get paid for the event at Bethpage, New York in 2025.
They will though require approval from the board first. If approved, Team USA members could reportedly walk away with $400,000 from the tournament next year.
