While the Buffalo Sabres had a great day on Saturday, the same cannot be said about their color commentator Rob Ray as he got smacked on the head by the puck. He would proceed to drop a huge F-bomb live on air after getting hit.
Ray was present at the rinkside to cover the action between the Sabres and the New York Rangers from the KeyBank Center. While he would have been impressed by what he saw from the Sabres in the first period, the puck to the forehead was something he would have not imagined.
As the Buffalo Sabres were leading 4-0, the Rangers tried to answer back and pull back one goal before the first period ended. During this, Rangers’ defenseman Will Borgen would try to move the puck forward in his team’s attacking zone.
Unfortunately for Ray, Borgen ended up hitting his shot too high. The puck would hit him near the eye with huge force leaving him stunned. After getting smashed in the head, Ray would drop an NSFW reaction.
Aww F***

He would later turn off his headset and was attended to by the medical staff sitting beside him on the Sabres bench. He was given some stitches by the doctors later on. Despite this hard blow to the head, the former Sabres enforcer would continue to call the game from the sidelines.
In the third period, he would show off his injury. Ray would point out where he got hit and say, “Right where the golf ball is right here. That’s not normal“.

Speaking of the game, the Sabres started off hot and took a 5-0 lead by the end of the first period. Despite a fight back from the Rangers later on, they were unable to avoid a huge 8-2 defeat.
This victory leaves the Sabres with a 23-27-5 record. After losing 13 games in a row, the Sabres have bounced back a little. In their last 21 games, the team is 12-8-1. Despite this improvement, they are currently bottom of the Atlantic Division standings.
