Winning the Wimbledon finals in straight sets against a world-class opponent is no joke. With that kind of speed, power, placement, and energy, it looks like it's going to be Advantage Carlos Alcaraz in the years to come. Hats off to Novak Djokovic for his grace and the way he has conducted himself in victory and in defeat. For me that is the hallmark of a true sportsperson.

Tendulkar himself is no stranger to greatness from an early age. Joining the Indian cricket team at the tender age of 16, he held no caution for the bowlers whatsoever. He meant business and would leave even the finest of the lot at a stick’s end. With 34357 international runs combined across all formats of the game, the Master Blaster carved a legacy like never before.

Carlos Alcaraz scripts fairytale evening in London

Carlos Alcaraz scripted history last night in London as he equaled the Open Era record for most Grand Slam singles titles secured at the young age of 21, joining the elite pantheon that stars Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander. Apart from the two Wimbledon titles, Alcaraz has already amassed one French Open and one US Open in his repertoire.

The journey of Alcaraz has been downright motivating. He clinched his first Grand Slam in the 2022 US Open. In this Wimbledon final, the first two sets was a cakewalk for the Spaniard. It could have been game set match even earlier as the champion was 5-4 in the third set and was sitting at 40-love.

However, in a marathon contest where one is up against one of the finest of the lot, mistakes do happen. Starting with a double fault, a string of five errors on the trot allowed Novak Djokovic to push it to the tie-breaker. However, overcoming the minor blip on the radar, Alcaraz smashed home the winner with the giant Serbian staying witness to the rise of the champion for the second consecutive time.
