Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje is history and what a match the world witnessed. Khabib put up a dominant show as usual, with Gaethje submitting in the second round to a triangle choke; Khabib won the lightweight championship unification bout thereby. But, there was a sight to behold as Khabib sunk to the ground immediately after his victory and wept bitterly. What came next was completely unexpected, the Dagestani fighter announced his retirement saying that he will not be able to carry on without his late father by his ringside.

Khabib’s retirement was met with innumerable reactions from fans, celebrities and fellow fighters. Jon Jones was one among them. Jon too, like everyone else congratulated Khabib initially via Twitter. But, later the American Heavyweight wasn’t happy with the claim that Khabib is the GOAT, he began posting a couple of tweets expressing his displeasure over the same.

“I’ve sacrificed too much blood” – Jon Jones

Jon started off pointing out to the fact that he has won 15 world titles, while Khabib just won his fourth. This was just the beginning as Jon went on for a while with a series of tweets.

Jon clearly wasn’t able to accept the fact that Khabib is the GOAT; he tweeted saying, “I understand most people have never been number one in their community, state, let alone the world. My competitive nature won’t allow me to just stand by and see someone ask to be considered the best. I’ve sacrificed too much blood

Jon even brought up his race into it. SIGH!

Jon Jones replied to people who called him “salty” saying, “Not salty at all, I really do respect Khabib, I honor the type of man he is. But being the best is earned not given. Unfortunately four title fights aint it, no matter how much we all like em.”
