Samantha Irvin makes shocking claims about being unhappy with her role in WWE days after abruptly handing her resignation

This past Monday afternoon, Samantha Irvin left her duties in WWE as a ring announcer after she tendered her resignation. That was quite shocking for not only the fans but also those backstage at WWE, WrestleVotes confirmed via X hours later. She wasn’t released. It now appears like it’s a case of her not liking her job and wanting to continue.
Recently, the 35-year-old engaged in a back and forth on Instagram with a fan, who claimed that Ricochet influenced her decision about leaving WWE. Sam was quick to hit back, saying she didn’t like announcing. That was her only future in WWE, as the company wasn’t ready to bank on her in other major roles that she wanted to pursue, one of which included becoming an on-screen general manager at some point.
The Virtuoso claimed that she thoroughly enjoyed watching the action but never loved calling it out. In another comment that she made, Sam asserted that she’s honored by the downpour of affection towards her from her fans. Irvin then went on to affirm that Ricochet wanted to stay with WWE before he was written off and eventually left.
However, as alluded to by Samantha, The Highlight of the Night was never booked to his potential in the company. One of the other reasons Sam decided to call it quits was to spend more time with her six-year-old daughter. As Irvin revealed in a post shortly before exiting WWE, she raised her daughter as a single mother.
Moreover, Sam’s mother committed suic*de when her baby was only three months old in 2018. Owing to a rigorous WWE schedule, she wasn’t being able to be with her family as much as she’d liked to.
What is Samantha Irvin expected to do next?
There had been reports of Samantha Irvin not joining AEW to continue as a ring announcer post-WWE exit. Her fiancé Ricochet was the first to confirm that was indeed the case. In fact, the former America’s Got Talent fame is looking to solely focus on her career in music.
As per a report from PWInsider, being with WWE was making it difficult for Irvin to entertain offers from outside of the company. Now that Samantha’s gone, veteran announcer Lilian Garcia has already replaced her on Monday Night Raw.
However, she might not be a permanent solution for WWE. She’s expected to have an extended run with the company until it finds a new one to fill in those shoes. Garcia also lauded Irvin for her WWE tenure and wished her the best in whatever she does next.
