San Antonio Spurs hand over 106-107 win to CJ McCollum led Portland Trail Blazers

CJ McCollum led Damian Lillard less Portland Trail Blazers inch past San Antonio Spurs to steal a 107-106 victory as the home team missed 3 game winning shots on their final possession. Lillard who out due to a hamstring injury, yet his team managed to overturn a 16-point first half deficit to snap their 2-match losing streak.
Norman Powell had 22 points, while Anfernee Simons registered 16 points for Portland Trail Blazers. While Demar DeRozan led the offensive chart for San Antonio Spurs and Dejounte Murray added a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The San Antonio Spurs fell to 2-7 in April after blowing another lead in the final minutes. Seven players scored at least eight points for the Trail Blazers, including a combined 39 points from reserves Carmelo Anthony, Enes Kanter and Simons. Kanter had 10 points and 10 rebounds. CJ McCollum and Powell combined for 15 points in the final quarter.
Portland Trail Blazers closed the third quarter with a 24-10 run and scored the opening basket of the final period to tie the game at 85.
Powell’s driving layup with 22.8 seconds remaining gave Portland a 107-106 lead. DeRozan missed a jumper from the wing with 9.2 seconds left. But Jakob Poeltl tipped the rebound out to Rudy Gay, who missed a 3-pointer. Poeltl got the rebound but missed a 17-footer as time expired.
After this game Portland Trail Blazers would face Charlotte Hornets, who also lost tot he Brooklyn Nets today. While San Antonio Spurs would be up against the young and energetic Phoenix Suns.
