“I wrote you a lullaby” Eagles RB Saquon Barkley appears to subtly troll Giants owner John Mara in the Unisom commercial

Eagles Saquon Barkley found the funniest way to troll his former boss, Giants owner John Mara, who went through sleepless nights after letting the running back join rivals Eagles.

Saquon Barkley made John Mara’s biggest nightmare come true. He became a household name for the Philadelphia Eagles fans and stands on the verge of writing his name in history books.

Barkley rushed 345 times for 2005 yards and scored 13 touchdowns for the Eagles in 16 games. 176 of them came against the Giants in Week 16 when the Eagles decimated the Giants 28-3.

The three-time Pro Bowler only needs 80+ yards in the final game of the season to set a single-season rushing yards record, rubbing salt in Mara’s wounds. Before that, he subtly trolled the 70-year-old while appearing in the latest commercial of Unisom (medicine for people who face trouble sleeping).

I heard some of you were having trouble sleeping, so I wrote you a lullaby. Rock-a-bye baby, awake in your bed. As the thought of 2,000 swirls in your head. It sure is tough to lose sleep over football. Not for me, though. Good night to you all.

Saquon Barkley can be seen saying in the Unisom ad

Mara was against letting the dynamic running back leave the team. During HBO’s Hard Knocks in the off-season, the New York Giants owner’s conversation with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen showed his discontent with letting one of their best players leave and that to their divisional rivals.

I’ll have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia, I’ll tell you that, as I’ve told you. Just being honest. He’s the most popular player we have by far.

John Mara said on Hard Knocks

Mara needs to move on from Barkley. He and the Giants must focus on the 2025 NFL Draft and possibly draft a quarterback who can save them from the pits of loser hell.

Will Saquon Barkley play in the Eagles’ final game against the Giants?

Mara can’t rest easy for once because it’s more than likely that the Eagles will rest Barkley when these two teams meet on Sunday in Philadelphia.

I’ll talk to our staff, I’ll talk to the players, I’ll talk to [general manager] Howie [Roseman], I’ll talk to Mr. Lurie. I’ll talk to everybody to try and make sure I’m making the best decision for the football team.

On Wednesday Sirianni hinted that the Eagles want to avoid risking the 27-year-old picking up an injury.

We’re going to rest some guys; you know we’re locked into that number two seed… (Saquon) he’ll probably be someone that rests.

The Eagles are 13-3 and already clinched the NFC East title by beating the Cowboys 7-41 in Week 17. Even though the NFC Second seat is on the line, they would prefer to have an injury-free Saquon Barkley for the playoffs rather than him spending time on the hospital bed.
