This Sunday will be a homecoming for Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. He returns to MetLife Stadium for the first time since his decision to leave the Big Apple in search of greener pastures.
Fans did not react well to his decision to leave. Saquon Barkley‘s move to Philadelphia triggered veterans such as Tiki Barber who vowed that the running back was “dead” to the Giants fanbase. Given the circumstances, Barkley understands that the last thing to expect from the crowd is cheers.
Saquon Barkley is just looking to focus on making plays and leaving New York with a win.
Philly and New York are cutthroat rivals in almost every sphere ranging from specialty foods to football.
Saquon Barkley believes that Giants fans no longer resent him for his decision
The Eagles hold a slight edge over the Giants in the team’s all-time rivalry. Philadelphia has won 91 games while New York has won 87. Saquon Barkley is attempting to return to his old house and score a long touchdown. He believes in manifesting and visualization because that is the scenario he has continued to play on repeat in his mind.
The running back is heading to New York with an optimistic attitude. He believes that the Giants fanbase no longer cares about his decision.
It is admirable that Barkley would like to think that but it is surprising to see since he spent six years playing in New York. The fanbase is brutal and Saquon Barkley was the only player consistent on that offense. With him gone, Daniel Jones and the new number 26, Devin Singletary have not been able to achieve the same level of success together.
Nevertheless, the Philadelphia Eagles will look to handle business on Sunday and improve to a 4-2 record on the season. New York sits at the bottom of the NFC East but it is fair to say that the team will have an added layer of motivation on Sunday to get the better of Barkley.
