The Philadelphia Eagles welcomed the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9 knowing if they kept their head down, it could be an easy win. But their opponents did put up a decent fight to keep the high-flying Eagles at bay. Flying was not what a certain Saquon Barkley thought of when trying to give his team the necessary spark.

In the first quarter of the game, the Jacksonville Jaguars forced the Eagles to two punts despite giving up a touchdown. On their fourth drive, the Jaguars’ defense again tried to slow their opponents down which made the Eagles lose three full minutes just to cross into Jags territory. Knowing they had to try everything, with a 3 and 6 at the Jag 44, it was up to Barkley to get a first down.

After he received the short pass from Jalen Hurts, he first had to slip by one defender. Then, another Jaguars defender came up to try to tackle Barkley before the first-down marker. The star running back spun a full 360 degrees to avoid the tackle which got him into first-down territory.

But then, he was faced with another opponent charging at him. At this point, the former Giants star noticed that the defender had his head down, possibly looking at going for his body. Saquon Barkley leaped into the air while again performing a 360 turn.

By this time, three more Jaguars players converged to finally stop the onslaught of 360 spin moves. They already saw two of their teammates being subjected to the spin cycle and could not take it anymore. In any way, that ridiculous move helped Barkley gain 14 crucial yards.

Saquon Barkley’s heroics prompted DeVonta Smith to perform one of his own

Barkley’s heroics and a later touchdown catch did help the Philadelphia Eagles stay up. But a crucial fumble by the running back led to the Jacksonville Jaguars making it a six-point game. Which meant, the home team needed to ensure they extended their lead if they had to win the game.

After marching down the field, a loss of yards from a penalty pegged back to a 3rd and 22 situation. The Eagles knew they could at least score a field goal and put points on the board. But the coaches decided to take a final shot before going for the easy route.

With leading receiver AJ Brown not on the field, Hurts had to get creative. He did that as he threw the ball a bit ahead of wideout DeVonta Smith. But since it was in the end zone, Smith had to extend and catch the ball with one hand. Then he took control of the ball on his chest and at the same time, brought both feet down before sliding out of the end zone.

The touchdown sparked wild celebrations among the Eagles faithful. They had something to cheer on a night when the Eagles tried and missed three two-point conversions and a late-game field goal. Not to mention the inability to score at will against this Jaguars defense.
