The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX by destroying the Kansas City Chiefs. To defeat such a formidable opponent, every single position group had to play at their best. The only exception was Saquon Barkley who did not reach his usual figures but rather showed his leadership as he kept his teammates grounded.
Keeping them grounded was his way of telling his teammates that until the final whistle blows, the game is not over. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have the ability to mount a comeback and ruin it all. Therefore, it pays to keep their heads level.
After the final whistle he celebrated the most as he could not believe how his career had changed. From being seemingly cast away by the New York Giants to having one of the best rushing seasons ever, then finally winning the Super Bowl was surreal.
Now that his name is etched in NFL history, he wanted to show his gratitude to those who have helped him achieve all that. He did hug GM Howie Roseman tightly after winning Super Bowl LIX. After all, Roseman believed in him when others wanted to throw in the towel.
He then went one step further for some of his teammates. As per NBCS Philly’s John Clark, the star running back gifted each of his starting offensive linemen a truck full of Bud Light beer. It was his way of expressing his gratitude for keeping him safe and opening up the holes that helped him achieve those feats.

Those trucks were for Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Mekhi Beckton and Lane Johnson. The Philadelphia Eagles starting offensive line that was one of the league’s best all season long. The running back’s appreciation for them though, did not stop with the Bud Light trucks.
The Philadelphia Inquirer’s EJ Smith added that when the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon reached out to Saquon Barkley, he insisted that they include a segment where the offensive line was showcased. Eventually, the show agreed and had to write in a segment where they shotgunned Bud Lights live on stage.
The seasonal rushing yards record holder made it clear that he couldn’t do anything without the help of those five men up front. When he crossed the 2000 rushing yards mark, he took a picture with the entire unit.
It is normal for quarterbacks to gift the line. But running backs doing it is quite rare. Now he has seemingly set a precedent. If they are to repeat their Super Bowl LIX feat, all of them have to be at their peak again. Barkley may not eclipse 2000 yards, but at least he will contribute as they try to defend their crown.
