The Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley rushed for more than 2000 yards in his maiden year with the Birds. The New York native was followed closely by the Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry while the Atlanta Falcons’ Bijan Robinson took the coveted third spot.
Robinson, playing in his second year, rushed for 1,456 yards and recorded 14 touchdowns, tied for the fifth-most in the league. The breakout season hasn’t gone unnoticed. Recently, ESPN listed Bijan Robinson fourth on the list of best running backs for 2025 in their NFL executives, coaches, and scouts poll. An NFL executive even called Robinson “a nightmare to prepare for.“
Recently, Barkley, who was the only player last season with more touches than Robinson, praised the young Falcons’ running back’s cutting skills on the field.
He also added a warning alarm for all the teams ahead of the upcoming season. Barkley claimed that Robinson would only get more brutal in the upcoming season as he figures himself out better.
There’s nobody who’s able to cut like Bijan in the NFL. There’s not. You can go argue with your mom about that, I’ll be honest. Trust me. I love myself and I think I have great cuts. There’s nobody, his vision, his agility, and he can catch the ball too. It’s finna get scary for a lot of people as he continues to figure it out.

Earlier this summer, Robinson admitted he’s still chasing that “Saquon-type” breakout, highlighting his desire to rip off more game-changing runs. Despite his dynamic skill set, Robinson has yet to record a 40+ yard run in the NFL.
We all want it. We’re all waiting for that Saquon-type of season when it comes to explosives. But I’ve been working on it a lot this offseason. And, obviously, when it gets to the season, it’s time to go show it and go do the work the right way.

Bijan Robinson could be more lethal with Kyle Pitts in tow
The Atlanta Falcons may finally have the offensive firepower needed to take a serious leap. After Bijan Robinson’s breakout firepower season, they have enough ammunition to create a lethal duo with Robinson and Kyle Pitts.

Kyle Pitts flashed elite potential as a rookie in 2021, falling just 50 yards short of Mike Ditka’s long-standing rookie tight end receiving record. While his production has dipped since then, his talent remains undeniable. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson has quickly established himself as one of the league’s most versatile backs.
The Falcons’ new offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, is now tasked with unlocking the full potential of this dynamic duo. On 92.9 The Game’s The Morning Shift, hosts Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, and Beau Morgan argued that Pitts and Robinson could “unlock” each other if used correctly.
I think Bijan’s yardage goes hand in hand with Kyle Pitts. If you can use Kyle Pitts alongside Bijan, kind of unlock both of those guys, I think that you’ll really hit the next level offensively.
Former Falcon Mike Johnson said
Pitts demands attention from safeties and linebackers in the seam, while Robinson creates mismatches out of the backfield, particularly against slower defenders. Together, they can force defenses to make difficult choices on every snap, opening the field for each other and their teammates.
If Zac Robinson can find ways to scheme both players into favorable matchups, Atlanta could finally become the offensive threat fans have been waiting for. With young quarterback Michael Penix Jr. likely to step in soon, a reliable, multi-dimensional attack built around Pitts and Bijan could be the perfect foundation. They also hit gold with Drake London in the receiving corps, who had a sensational year last season.
