Saquon Barkley seems to be on a golden run since parting ways with the New York Giants. As he continues making history and solidifying his legacy with the Philadelphia Eagles, fans are increasingly placing him in the MVP conversation, especially following his extraordinary performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Eagles started the Week 12 game at a slow pace and after just one play in the second half; the star running back came as a knight in shining armor, as always. With a solid 70-yard run, he placed the Eagles at a 20-7 lead in the third quarter.

He also achieved his biggest rushing game performance by surpassing DeMarco Murray’s 253 yards from 2011. After this monumental performance, Barkley is just 33 yards away from topping his own career-best rushing yards in just 11 games.

Many football fans, who previously taunted the Giants and demanded an apology from General Manager Joe Schoen for disrespecting him, placed the two-time Pro Bowler in the MVP conversation as the Eagles improved to 9-2.

One fan wrote, “[Joe Schoen] deserves to get fired lol,” while another wrote, “If saquon keeps this up, we’ll have to start calling him ‘saquon bark-mvp’ or ‘sark-ules’ for his herculean efforts.”

Here are the fan reactions:

Additionally, Barkley made history on Sunday by marking his sixth game with over 100 yards and at least one rushing touchdown, becoming the first player in Eagles’ history to achieve this milestone in a single season.

He’s iconic for sure. To get a play that only you’ve done on Madden is pretty specialSaquon has been a huge addition for our offense. He’s an even better guy that makes it fun to be around him in the locker room. He just wants the best for the team, and individual success comes second to that.

Dallas Goedert said

Goedert revealed that Barkley is striving to win MVP honors this season. He mentioned that Barkley told him no Super Bowl-winning team has ever had a running back claim the NFL MVP. However, Barkley added that if it comes down to choosing between the two, he’s “okay not winning” the MVP as long as he can lead Philly to a Super Bowl victory.
