Sasha Banks is one of the prominent figures in the world of pro wrestling. She solidified her name as an incredible performer in the wrestling industry. Aside from that, Banks has a long list of WWE records and accomplishments. However, she left the company last year due to an altercation between her and WWE Management. The former WWE Women’s Champion stunned the world when she made her NJPW debut after leaving WWE. Moreover, as the reigning IWGP Women’s Champion, she has opened the doors to possible dream matches in AEW too.
Former WWE superstar Sasha Banks made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17, which took place in January. She debuted in NJPW under the alias ‘Mercedes Mone’. However, Banks went on to win the IWGP Women’s Championship at the subsequent pay-per-view Battle in the Valley. The former WWE Women’s Champion is looking to bolster her name beyond the domain of WWE. Besides, NJPW announced the date of their biggest collaborative pay-per-view, known as “Forbidden Door.” As a result, wrestling fans went beserk, and various rumours and speculations began to circulate.
Forbidden Door is a collaborative pay-per-view by NJPW and AEW. The Spectrum Cable pay-per-view features the wrestlers of both wrestling promotions. With the announcement of the event, the fans started to believe that they could witness some of the dream matches of Mercedes in the AEW. However, there has always been a delirium among the fans to witness some crossover matches with AEW. Since Mercedes Mone is the IWGP Women’s Champion, there’s a good possibility that she would participate in the crossover pay-per-view.
During the Wrestle Kingdom, Sasha Banks got to share a moment with one of the biggest stars of AEW, Kenny Omega. As a result, wrestling fans began to speculate about her match in AEW. Moreover, following the meet-up with Omega, Banks expressed her felicity. She did not rule out the possibility of their paths crossing again. However, Kenny Omega also tweeted and kept the prospect of a future confrontation alive. He said that he would love to be involved in a mixed tag match with her in the future.

Likelihood of WWE & AEW crossover somewhere down the road in future
Ever since its inception, AEW has been taking shots at WWE at regular intervals. Moreover, AEW President Tony Khan never failed to make a commotion with his sarcastic remarks on their rival promotion. However, WWE claims that they do not consider AEW to be their rival. Furthermore, in an interview, Triple H said that WWE is always open to a business relationship with AEW.
However, WWE President Tony Khan appeared to be sceptical of the idea. He has always claimed that AEW’s product is superior to WWE’s. Therefore, the crossover between the two promotions looks distant. However, it would be interesting to see if the Forbidden Door between AEW and WWE ever opens. If it happens, it will bring with it some of the most historic moments in wrestling history.
