Trollers try as they might, but Caleb Williams is sticking to painting his nails. Williams’ unusual habit became the talk of the town during his days with USC, where before the game he would paint his nails.
The 22-year-old revealed it helps him calm his nerves, which then allows him to give it his best in the games. During a recent interview with the crew of Pardon My Take, Williams announced he would continue to paint his nails despite a section of social media making fun of him for it.
I try to do that for games, like the regular season, things like that, playoffs [and] also because I've been doing it for so long now, I'm trying to, like, make sure I can do it for games because I run out of ideas.Caleb Williams said.
The crew further asked him whether he would paint curse worse on his nails, similar to how most athletes ink some of their favorites on their skin. Williams shook his head and said never because he had no intention of ending up on the bad books of the NFL’s head honcho.
I will not be doing that [writing curse/swear words]. He [Roger Goodell] would have some things to say. I'm trying to keep good-spirited things on my nails.Williams added.
Instead of writing swear words, he would prefer painting his nails with phrases that motivate. Williams developed this habit early on in his life. He learned the art from his mother, who would regularly paint them.

Unfortunately he will not be saying “F*** Green Bay” on them. He didn’t rule out “SMD GB” ?

Besides painting his nails Caleb Williams also clarified on using a pink cell phone
In March this year, Williams attended a USC women’s basketball game. Fans noticed something that they thought was out of place. Williams was holding a cell phone with a pink cover.
He came clean about the reason behind roaming around with a pink mobile phone, which reportedly broke later on.
I actually broke my pink cell phone [by] accident. I have to get a new one; right now it's black. I'm trying to get a new pink one. The phone was pink, though everything else was not [pink]… It's a pink iPhone.Caleb Williams revealed.
Williams spent 2 seasons with USC, going 18-8. He completed 599 passes for close to 8000 passing yards and 72 touchdowns, along with 210 carries for more than 500 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. The Chicago Bears selected Williams as the first overall in the latest NFL draft.
