The New York Jets parting ways with former head coach Robert Saleh is the most hotly covered news in the NFL. Fans and media are still trying to wrap their heads around the dismissal, the circumstances leading up to it, and how he was escorted out of the premises.
Aaron Rodgers also spoke up about the issue and suggested that he had no hand in it. But what the rest of the players felt was unknown. Until reporters asked star cornerback Sauce Gardner.
After their practice session on Thursday, the All-Pro defensive back took to the podium to answer questions. Naturally, the most pertinent question was what he and the players felt about the dismissal.
Sauce Gardner was speaking for the team when he said that, suggesting that all of them are still trying to wrap their heads around the decision of the team owner.

The mere fact that the team is playing for the now-former head coach hints Robert Saleh had the locker room in his hands. The team wanted to continue to be better under him. But now they have to adjust to the fact that their leader is no longer around.
Gardner was drafted by Saleh and the front office, and they were equally instrumental in developing him into a superstar at his position. He would feel indebted for that, as would the majority of the defense.
Sauce Gardner did not know of Robert Saleh’s firing initially
The All-Pro corner usually maintains an active presence on social media. But he apparently did not know about the firing until his agent called. He went on to reveal how it unfolded in the same press conference;
Had his agent not called and talked about it, he would have only come to know once he entered the New York Jets’ premises.
Sauce Gardner deleted social media apps off of his phone:

He revealed that negativity on social media prompted him to get rid of his social media applications. He talked about how that is helping him be a better person. Even this stunning news did not prompt him to go back as he anticipated a lot of uncalled-for commotion to come out of it.
For someone who is just 24 years old, to make such a decision is mind-blowing. Especially in a day and age when social media has become the focus of everyone’s life. He preferred to keep his feelings to himself rather than reveal them on social media like he used to do before.
