New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner remains confident in Aaron Rodgers‘ ability to succeed in the NFL. In the past two years, Aaron Rodgers’ form has considerably reduced amid the sea of scandals and the season-ending injury in their 2023 debut against the Buffalo Bills.
When the Jets brought in Rodgers two years ago, they hoped to end years of playoff drought. However, after two disappointing seasons, they are ready to move on from the 41-year-old quarterback this offseason. In the meantime, there have been several franchises rooting for a veteran QB while a fraction of the internet is calling for his retirement.
Sauce Gardner expressed his belief on social media after a rumor surfaced suggesting that the Minnesota Vikings might be interested in acquiring Rodgers. The cornerback hinted that if the future Hall of Famer joined the NFC North team, he could have a record-breaking season.
The potential move has drawn attention, especially given the historical parallel to Brett Favre, who also left Green Bay for New York before eventually joining the Vikings. Rodgers, like Favre, spent most of his career with the Packers before a brief stint with the Jets, making the potential switch to Minnesota eerily familiar.
If Aaron goes to the Vikings, he might be #1 in all QB stats.

The Minnesota Vikings, one of the teams to have never won a Super Bowl, is reportedly moving away from Sam Darnold. Darnold was indeed one of the best quarterbacks in the seasons, producing results until the last two games. The 27-year-old Californian stumbled in the final regular season game against the Detroit Lions and the Wildcard playoff against the Rams, where the Vikings eventually crashed out.
Aaron Rodgers might fit in Minnesota Vikings alright
The fit seems ideal for Aaron Rodgers, given Minnesota’s talented offensive unit. With star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, promising young playmaker Jordan Addison, and tight end T.J. Hockenson, the Vikings offer an attractive environment for any quarterback to thrive.

Minnesota’s offensive scheme under head coach Kevin O’Connell has already proven fruitful. Sam Darnold, widely regarded as a struggling quarterback before his arrival, posted impressive numbers, throwing for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns.
It’s easy to see why Gardner and others believe Rodgers could flourish in Minnesota. If Darnold could thrive, Rodgers, despite his recent struggles could potentially rediscover his elite form with the right supporting cast.
A fresh start in Minnesota, however, could provide Rodgers with a path to redemption. It would also add an intriguing chapter to his career, as he would be following the same Green Bay-to-New York-to-Minnesota path as Favre once did.
The Vikings, meanwhile, are also looking toward the future with rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy. But having a proven veteran like Rodgers as a bridge starter could allow McCarthy time to develop without immediate pressure. All said and done, it is a gamble and the results could land on both sides.
