Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant hits back at fan for questioning his reputation after Houston Rockets trade rumors
The Houston Rockets made moves to swap picks with the Brooklyn Nets after their blockbuster trade. The most telling part of those moves was to get their hands on Phoenix Suns 1st round picks. With that draft capital in hand, the Rockets are positioning themselves to try and trade for Kevin Durant. As soon as news of this spread, a fan tried to mock the superstar, only for the 2-time champion to give a fitting reply.
The fan was of the thought process that Kevin Durant was on his way to the Houston Rockets. So, he took to X to share his opinion.

KD so sorry. look at what his reputation is now lol.The fan wrote
Kevin Durant who is often active on social media, issued a quick reply.
Well check ball then.Kevin Durant replied
Durant shut down the fan who thought it would be a downgrade for Durant’s reputation. But he knows any team can be a winner, which is why he came back with that savage reply. Durant going to the Rockets will instantly improve the team as a whole. That is what the Phoenix Suns superstar tried to tell the fan. His reply suggested that whatever the situation is, it will be time to put in the work. The reputation of Durant will not waver as per the team he is on.
In that respect, when he joined the Brooklyn Nets, it was a team trying to establish its own identity. His performances elevated them to the extent that they were constantly thought of as a contender for the NBA title. Therefore, the Houston Rockets could be in the same position if he joins.
Kevin Durant will join a rising Houston Rockets team
The Houston Rockets spent years being one of the worst teams in the league. However, over the past couple of years, they have started to show great improvement. Backed by a sleuth of 1st round picks, the Rockets may be young. But at one point last season, they were threatening to displace the Golden State Warriors for the last play-in spot.
Therefore, they are expected to progress even further next year. The young stars are only poised to get better as they will now be more prepared with head coach Ime Udoka‘s schemes. They are excellent defensively and play with a tenacity that will go a long way to establish their intentions of becoming a playoff force. Now when one adds Kevin Durant to this mix, it could make the Rockets title favorites.
Durant will only be required to continue his elite scoring. Defense and playmaking will be handled by the rest of the squad. That means a far less burden on the 2-time Finals MVP’s shoulders. It is possible that the Slim Reaper might enjoy this situation.
