Scoot Henderson has four-word reaction to 100-point achievement in recent games
After steadily improving his offensive game, Scoot Henderson confidently described himself as a "dog" following a 25-point performance.
Scoot Henderson categorize himself as a "dog" after 4 double-digit games
This year, Scoot Henderson, the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, seems to have turned a new page. The 20-year-old has scored 101 points in his last four games, dropping 4 double-digit games in a row while playing the best basketball of his career. Today, the rookie showed out with a 25-point performance in front of his home crowd to end Portland Blazers’ five-game losing streak.
Henderson made a couple of crucial buckets during the game to keep his team in contention. After trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half, “Scoota” hit two consecutive three-pointers to tie the score at 53-53 heading into the break. Despite spending much of the first half chasing, Portland closed out the game with a score of 113-102. Here’s how the young gun described himself and his latest progress after the game.

Not expecting such a candid response, the reporter broke into a chuckle and concurred with his statement, repeating, “Yes, you are. He’s the dog.” This sudden switch in gears by the 20-year-old is a promising sign and a glimmer of hope for “Rip City,” which has been undergoing reconstruction since Damian Lillard‘s departure in 2023.
Scoot Henderson was particularly in rhythm today as a playmaker. Making the extra pass and routinely finding the open man, he successfully set up eight assists. Additionally, he grabbed seven rebounds and made two defensive stops—all in 38 minutes of relentless effort.
Shannon Sharpe believes Damian Lillard should have left Blazers sooner
In one episode of the renowned sports podcast Nightcap, Shannon Sharpe suggested that if he were in Lillard’s place, he would have made his exit earlier. Using an analogy to drive his point home in classic Sharpe style, the former tight end had this to say about Damian Lillard leaving Portland.
Sharpe pointed out how Lillard might have missed his opportunity to compete for a championship by overstaying his time with the Portland Trail Blazers. There is some truth to the former NFL player’s comments, considering Dame’s age. He won his first NBA Cup with the Milwaukee Bucks this season, and his chemistry with Giannis Antetokounmpo might just be the key to his first championship ring as well.
