As the 2024 MLB offseason rolls on, speculations and rumors continue to surge. Recently, the name of Minnesota Twins’ Carlos Correa has shown up. There have been reports that the former Houston Astros star could be traded this offseason. His agent Scott Boras has now shut down this speculation.

Correa, who joined the Twins in 2022, struggled with an injury this season. Despite only appearing in 86 games, the shortstop batted with a high average of .310 while hitting 14 home runs and having 54 RBI.

The Twins on the other hand suffered a historic collapse on their way to the postseason. At one stage the team had a 95 percent chance of making it to the playoffs. However, a dramatic collapse in the later stages saw them go 12-27 in their final 39 games, which saw them finish with an 82-80 record and miss the postseason.

Following this, rumors started speculating that Correa could move away from the team. Boras though has now shut down these speculations. He claimed that his client is “happy” with the Twins.

The last time I talked to him, he told me the fishing was good. So, yeah, he’s happy there.

Scott Boras said as per Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune

The Puerto Rican shortstop has four years left on his deal and even has a no-trade clause. So it is likely that he will continue his stay with the Minnesota Twins in the 2025 season.

Scott Boras takes jab at NY Yankees during Juan Soto’s Mets welcome

This past Sunday, the sweepstakes for Juan Soto came to an end with the New York Mets emerging as the winners. The National League side landed him on a 15-year $765 million deal. On Thursday he was officially welcomed to the team in an introductory press conference. During this, his agent Scott Boras took a jab at the New York Yankees.

Soto spent the 2024 season with the Yankees after joining them on a trade from the San Diego Padres. He went on to hit 41 home runs in the regular season and emerged as a top offensive player.

The race for Soto eventually came down to the two New York franchises. Soto picked the Mets’ offer over the Yankees 16-year $760 million deal. This turned out to be the largest contract in the history of professional sports.

During the event on Thursday, Boras was also present with his client. During this, he was asked whether the Yankees could be considered as runners-up in the race for Soto. This saw the super-agent take a jab at the Bronx Bombers.

The departure of Soto has left a huge gap in the Yankees lineup. The team is now looking at some top potential free agents to replace him. Stars like Christian Walker, Cody Bellinger, and Kyle Tucker have all been linked with a move to the Bronx. However, there is nothing concrete as of yet.
