The World No.1 golfer is back. On Thursday, Scottie Scheffler will make his 2025 PGA Tour season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after being sidelined for almost a month through a freak injury. Ahead of his return to the course, he gave a hilarious warning to everyone regarding wine glasses.
During Christmas, Scheffler suffered an injury to his wrist while he was preparing dinner. This led to him having surgery which forced him to sit out from the opening events of the PGA Tour.
Speaking in the press conference before the tournament, the 13-time PGA Tour winner shed light on the incident and revealed how he got injured. Scheffler spoke on how the accident led to glass shards being removed from his hands.
You’ve got to roll the dough and you’ve got to cut the dough, but we were at a rental house so we didn’t have like the right tools and the only thing there was a wine glass that we found.
Scottie Scheffler told the reporters at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am press conference
He thus gave a warning regarding wine glass and urged people to be careful around them even if they do not drink it.
I had my hand on top of it and it broke. which side note, I’ve heard nothing but horror stories since this happened about wine glasses, so be careful… Yeah, it broke and the stem kind of got me in the hand.
Scottie Scheffler added

The 28-year-old was left bleeding in the middle and upper part of his palm. A friend of his would rush stop the bleeding and rush him to the hospital where he underwent surgery the next day.
All of this came after he had a fantastic 2024 season. He claimed 9 wins which included a second major championship at the Masters Tournament and an Olympic gold medal at the Paris Games. He thus won the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award for a third season running.
Will hand injury impact Scottie Scheffler’s momentum in 2025?
After winning the Tour Championship in August, Scottie Scheffler took a two-month break and returned to action at the Hero World Challenge. The break did not faze him as he comfortably walked away as the winner. The question now is will this hand injury impact his momentum in 2025?

Coming back from an injury is never easy. While how will Scheffler play this week remains to be seen, he seems to be in fine form at the moment.
Recently, he was seen hitting the range for a practice session. In a video shared by TaylorMade Golf on X, the two-time major champion can be seen making a birdie on the very first hole. His shot would land just a few feet away from the hole. He would later roll the ball in with a long-range putt.
Easy birdie for Scottie Scheffler on his first hole back.

As per Todd Lewis of Golf Channel, Scheffler took part in an 18-hole practice round. He would find the center of the face quite often and played without any bandage or wrap on his right hand.

Scheffler will tee off with Brian Harman in the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at 12:01 EST at the Spyglass Hill Course. There will be no cuts in this limited-field event, which means all golfers will play the full four rounds of the tournament.
