Scottie Scheffler is a true Dallas Cowboys fan. The 29-year-old would instantly trade one of his major wins to see Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones lifting the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in his lifetime.

Scheffler’s love for football remained even though he picked golf as his primary sport. He won four majors and is currently the world’s best player.

The same cannot be said about his beloved Cowboys. Not only has America’s team not won a Super Bowl for over thirty years, but it hasn’t even been in a conference final since 1996.

On the latest episode of the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler revealed that he’s ready to give up one of his major wins to see the Cowboys win another Super Bowl.

Yeah, that’s a good one. If the Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl, then that would be up there for sure… I would trade one [major] for sure for a Super Bowl. I mean, I have been rooting for a Super Bowl for a long time. Hard work gone into it you know, cheering the boys. Arguably a lot more disappointed in football then there is in golf.

Scheffler confessed before the season began that he did not expect the Cowboys to do well in 2024. However, he still tuned in to experience the same heartbreak as the previous two decades of his life on earth.

l’m that Cowboys fan where it’s like we’re gonna win the Super Bowl. We are going to go to the playoffs, do all the stuff, and then it never even comes close to happening.

The golf star believes that Prescott receives unnecessary criticism and deserves more credit. However, it was Prescott’s injury that derailed the Cowboys’ 2024-25 NFL campaign. The Boys only managed seven wins all year and missed out on playoff football. Jones fired most of the coaches and hired new ones to start afresh.

All is not well with the Cowboys

However, the owner/general manager’s approach to running the NFC team remains unchanged. Like last year, he’s delaying the due payments of one of his star players, Micah Parsons.

Parsons had the option to follow the Trey Hendrickson route. However, he showed up to practice at Oxnard on the first day of training camp. Jones had mixed reactions about Parsons’ presence. On one hand, he praised the All-Pro athlete, and on the other, he raised questions about his durability.

Just because we sign him doesn’t mean we’re gonna have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously.

Jones’s attitude compelled Parsons to give a snarky reply.

They’re signing checks like always. Let’s see if they want me to be here at the end of the day… Some teams like Maxx knew were coming up, and they took care of them. Must be nice… My agent’s been reaching out, and at one point another grown man has to be willing to reach out himself.

The Cowboys need Parsons on the team. Since debuting in 2021, he has recorded 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks, and 9 forced fumbles.

After finishing their training camp, the Cowboys fly to the home of the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in week one of the 2025 season.
