In their previous match, which took place at UFC Vegas 17 in 2020, Aldo prevailed via unanimous decision over Vera. The fighter was greatly affected by that defeat, but he recovered and won four more fights in a row. Vera has discussed this rematch numerous times, and this time, he might actually succeed. But first, everything depends on the UFC and their most recent agreement with Jose Aldo.
