Ryan Garcia shocked the world by defeating Devin Haney in a much anticipated super lightweight title fight. The unexpected result caught the attention of fans worldwide as Garcia was a major underdog going into the fight. In the midst of all this, UFC superstar Sean O’Malley took a jibe at Garcia with a hilarious video.
Sean O’Malley posted a funny video on his social media account with his coach, Tim Welch. ‘Suga’ talked about Ryan Garcia‘s technique, which helped him win against Haney. The fighter gave a ridiculous version of what he thought happened in the fight. Moreover, Welch was also fully committed to the act, which, as always, magnified the impact of the video.
In a lighthearted analysis of the bout, O’Malley brought up the fact that Garcia consistently faced away from his opponent. This came after landing a left hook and using his back to avoid getting hit. O’Malley gave a perfect analysis of what Garcia did correctly to confuse Haney. Yet again, ‘Suga’ couldn’t help but mock Garcia like the last time he did with his coach.
The fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney caught fans off guard from the very first round. ‘KingRy’ was impressive and dropped Haney thrice throughout the fight. Haney looked confused and wasn’t able to do much to retaliate. Ultimately, Garcia won the fight via majority decision and made a huge statement to shut down his haters.
Ryan Garcia claims he can destroy Sean O’Malley in MMA
Ryan Garcia isn’t afraid of going out of his comfort zone and trying other combat sports other than boxing. The fighter doesn’t want to take any easy road and even called out UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley to compete in MMA.
During one of his recent interviews with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Garcia mentioned that he would beat O’Malley in an MMA fight with ease. According to the young boxer, he is very natural in MMA and knows how to wrestle.
Bring that motherf***er on. I'll beat his ass in MMA, guaranteed. I'm a natural, you don't understand. I'm a natural wrestler. I just beat my security that's a wrestler. I beat him. I'm strong and I got crazy conditioning.Ryan Garcia via The MMA Hour
Many former UFC fighters have switched to boxing, but the same can’t be said for the top boxers. Making a move from boxing to MMA isn’t that easy, and it’s very rare. However, if this crossover takes place, fans would definitely love to see O’Malley fight Garcia inside the octagon.
