Sean O'Malley-Cody Garbrandt

Sean O’Malley and Cody Garbrandt, two fighters who aren’t really fond of each other and have a history of trading shots over interviews and on social media almost went at it at their pre-fight press conference though they had different opponents at UFC 269. The night however ended with ‘Sugar’ taking the win over Raulian Paiva by KO and Cody Garbrandt succumbing to his fifth loss in his last six fights.

Sean reacted to Cody’s loss at an interview with UFC, “Sucks for him, deuces. Some people just aren’t built for this”, said O’ Malley. Later in the post-fight press conference, O’Malley praised Garbrandt.

He even symphatized with Cody at his podcast ‘The Timbo Sugarshow’. Cody got dropped again. It’s like dude I don’t even wanna sit here and say anything. I’m sure Cody is dealing with like some serious f***ing like, some serious demons right now dude. He’s pray questioning a lot of things and I don’t wanna f***ing add on to that.”

Fans were quick to reply, ‘Respect to Sean O’Malley for not kicking Cody when he’s at his lowest right now’. O’Malley even went on to say, “I think ever since he said he was the Mike Tyson of the Bantamweight division, it just went all downhill from there.”

With three wins out of three, and all by knockout, Sean O’Malley fancies the title ‘Fighter Of The Year’ and took to Instagram to use it as his claim on the title.

However, many believe, and by many we mean Henry Cejudo, that in order to truly earn that title, he needs to be able to avenge his only UFC loss to Ecuadorian Marlon Vera.

‘Sugar’ was even happy that Dana White acknowledged his performances when the UFC President said, “It looks like we’re going to have to pay him”. He said that he’ll be definitely renegotiating with the UFC once his contract is up and feels like he’s now reaching Conor Mcgregor status in terms of pay day when he said, “Have you ever heard Dana say we’re going to pay this guy? Ever, besides Conor?”.

Do you think Sean O’Malley deserves to fight top level competition and earn huge pay days? We shall find out soon enough.
