Former UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has always been a polarizing figure, gaining attention for his controversial remarks and confrontational demeanor. He frequently engages in heated exchanges with fellow fighters, keeping himself relevant in the UFC spotlight through constant disputes. Most recently, Strickland has sparked another intense conflict, this time not with a fighter but with Derek Moneyberg.
Moneyberg is a well-known wealth coach who has collaborated with several UFC legends while pursuing his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey. According to Moneyberg, he earned his highly respected BJJ black belt in an impressive span of just three and a half years. Recently, Moneyberg was confronted by Sean Strickland, who aggressively slammed him with allegations of dishonesty and scamming practices.
This man takes advantage of low paid UFC fighters and uses their platform to peddle financial scams…what he does is so dishonest and so scummy…You are a scumbag and you are a fraudster.

Moneyberg built his brand by teaching financial independence, personal growth, and high-level entrepreneurial strategies. He has developed strong business ties with UFC fighters, guiding them on investments, branding, and long-term financial security beyond their fighting careers.
Moneyberg often collaborates with legends to promote seminars, offering fighters exposure while expanding his reach within the combat sports community. However, Strickland insisted the entire situation was nothing more than a scam and vowed never to collaborate with such people.
Throughout his career, Strickland has repeatedly called out individuals in the MMA community whenever he believed they acted unethically or wrongly. He once engaged in a heated public dispute with popular MMA manager Tiki Ghosn, accusing him of predatory practices. Strickland once called out current UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev for allegedly promoting a questionable crypto scam on Instagram.
The scheme was later exposed as a pump-and-dump operation, forcing Chimaev’s manager to issue a formal public apology immediately. Regardless, Moneyberg didn’t like getting called out by Strickland and avoided being filmed. ‘Tarzan’ warned others to avoid MoneyBerg, trying to spread awareness in the community.
Joe Rogan reviews Derek Moneyberg’s BJJ black belt
Joe Rogan has been a longtime UFC commentator, providing insightful analysis for years with his deep understanding of combat sports. He is highly skilled in martial arts, holding a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and expertise in kickboxing techniques as well. Rogan is also close friends with some of the biggest names in MMA, strengthening his influence within the community.

Rogan hosts one of the world’s most popular podcasts, often inviting combat sports experts to share insights on various topics. During one conversation, Rogan specifically addressed Derek Moneyberg and questioned whether he truly earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt legitimately. After learning Moneyberg received his belt under respected former MMA fighter Jake Shields, Rogan’s doubts were cleared.
Jake gave him his black belt. Well then, he’s legit. There’s no way. I know Jake. There’s no way Jake would hand that out if it wasn’t real. Jake’s jiu jitsu is top of the food chain. Yeah. And I know Gordon has trained with him, and all these other people have trained with him. Danaher was over there with him too. I haven’t heard anybody say anything negative. It’s super easy to dismiss them just because they’re rich.

Mark Zuckerberg has passionately embraced BJJ, training diligently, competing in tournaments, and steadily gaining recognition for his dedication to martial arts. He has also collaborated with elite MMA fighters, including Alex Pereira and Alexander Volkanovski, learning techniques while earning respect within fighting communities.
At one point, Zuckerberg engaged in a public feud with Elon Musk, leading Dana White to express interest in hosting their fight. The proposed MMA bout generated massive global attention but never materialised.
Nevertheless, despite his background and age, Derek Moneyberg has maintained his status as a BJJ black belt among top experts. He was also called out by Craig Jones, who is one of the most popular BJJ fighters in the community. Jones even offered a fight to the controversial businessman at CJI 2, where he eventually fought Chael Sonnen and submitted him. However, it didn’t come to fruition.
