The UFC returned to Australia on Saturday for the UFC 312 PPV, which took place at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Sean Strickland gave Dricus Du Plessis full credit for defeating him in their titular affair in the PPV event headliner. Additionally, the American star also aired his laundry list of injuries.
Sean Strickland felt “robbed” when DDP got a split decision win during their first go at UFC 297. Even UFC CEO Dana White said he had scored it the other way around. While Strickland did pawn off a title shot off that again, he came home with bruises. Dricus Du Plessis left little to imagination in his lopsided domination this time. In his first statement, Strickland detailed those nose injuries.
Dricus, fu*king hat’s off, …Hell of a fight. Broke my nose in like six places! Silver lining, my nose is so broken it’s easy to reset. That was a new experience…I’m good. Losing sucks, but we all lose in life. I talk to so many people that lose their job, girlfriend breaks up with them and just find themselves in this whole. I love the misery…I love the suffering, because when you’re miserable, when you’re in pain and suffering – the moment that’s gone, and it will end and there will be a new day and better day.

Middleweight’s “Tarzan” said he was taking the loss positively. Part of him finds joy in the adversity of the moment. However, after a 0-2 title slump against DDP, it also means he is far away from contending for gold now. Those honors go to 185-pound top contender Khamzat Chimaev. Nevertheless, Sean Strickland is taking solace in the experience as a first step to bounce back.
Strickland (29-7 MMA, 16-7 UFC) has seen five of his seven career losses come by way of decision. But unlike last time, this was a violent ordeal against Dricus Du Plessis and he’ll carry the effects to prove it. Consequently, brazen “Tarzan” and a few others were taken out of the jungle and shifted to a hospital after UFC 312.
Battered Sean Strickland sent to hospital with four others after suffering broken nose between rounds
Sean Strickland was unable to get his revenge on 185lb kingpin Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312 PPV event. DDP battered him for 25 minutes inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, New South Wales. He even amped up the striking pace during R2-R3 when Strickland did. It was all thanks to his berserker style, that was quite the clinical mayhem.

Following UFC 312, company officials confirmed SBNation Network that behind-the-scene crew and camp transferred Strickland. He was taken to a local Aussie hospital for a precautionary CT scan as well. Alongside, Tatiana Suarez, Jimmy Crute, and Rodolfo Bellato also caught the same ride.

A wrestle-heavy Suarez (10-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) could not stop the strawweight domination of champion Zhang Weili in the PPV co-headliner. She had her 10-fight winning streak snapped for the first loss in her career. Despite a feeble early-round success, the first-time challenger suffered a UD loss (49-46, 49-46, 49-45) during the UFC 312 PPV event.

During R3, Weili wobbled her hard. She also is the only one ever to take down Suarez, adding a ginormous gash on her right knee in the championship rounds. Jack Jenkins is another fighter who got the ambulance ride after the pay-per-view (PPV) main card to check for fractures. While mandatory clinical suspensions are not official and out yet, it is to be soon.
