Sean Strickland secures biggest victory by outperforming Jack Hermansson at UFC Vegas 47 main-event

UFC Middleweight Sean Strickland is now on a 6-fight winning streak and there’s no stopping to the southern California native as he successfully shuts down his opponent Jack Hermansson‘s takedown attempts to secure by far the biggest victory of his career at UFC Vegas 47. Strickland is now most likely to fight the top-5 contender but would prefer to get a title shot now if possible. Round 1: Jack Hermansson throws a powerful outside leg kick. Sean Strickland starts off with power jabs. Sean keeps on jabbing Jack and makes pressure on the fight. Jack’s not as pressuring as Sean. Jack goes for another leg kick, followed by changing levels and grappling, there’s an opening exchange of grappling between both men.

Strickland is able to get off Jack. Both the fighters are now throwing linear exchanges in boxing. Sean keeps on throwing jabs and crosses with more emphasis than Jack. Jack is trying to put an impact on Sean with more low kicks. Sean goes with another jab and cross combo heading into the final minute. Sean is literally breaking Jack’s defence with his jab. Round 2: Jack starts off aggressively. Looks like he needs to push forward so that he doesn’t extend himself while throwing. Sean seems to be taking his time. The jab from Sean is money. Round 3: Sean seems to be controlling the pace of the fight. The takedown attempts by Jack has been unsuccessful. Sean is landing jab after jab spot on Jack’s face. Jack lands a good lead body kick. Sean returns with his own kick after some time. As of now, there’s nothing much in the fight happening other than Sean staying calculated while throwing his straight punches. Jack engages but Sean stays out of danger. The round ends with Sean neutralising Jack’s wrestling and grappling and taking the round on stand up. FirstSportz scores it 10-8 Sean.

Round 4: Jack needs to keep a pressurized pace on Sean, waiting to take a shot is doing nothing but worse against the latter. Another takedown attempt by Jack and he seems to have lost it because of time consumption. Sean has been as tough to hit as any fighter out there. Sean’s jab just simply imbalances Jack.

Sean’s defence with his hands is on point. He is fighting at his pace. Sean is just moving just slightly out of the way so that he can enter the range back to attack Jack. Sean throws a leg kick with his punches. Jack is trying hard and failing to take Sean offensively. Sean Strickland is clearly in control of the fight heading into the final round. Round 5: Sean keeps on controlling the fight. Jack is a bit out of range in striking. What Sean is specifically good at defending are the looping punches from Jack. Jack is picking up a little bit tough in the final round. Being down 4 rounds to 1, Jack may focus on getting a finish. Comparatively better round for Jack since his landing the body shot.

But the punches to the head are still getting missed by him. Sean, on the other hand, throws some kicks along with some beautiful combinations. Hermansson goes for another takedown, but enable again. Sean checks another one of Jack’s leg kicks. This fight can end as the biggest win for Sean. The fight ends and FirstSportz scores this 10-9 for Sean.
