There is no doubt that the Raja Jackson controversy has gotten out of hand due to the 25-year-old’s actions. He is the son of former UFC champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. He was involved in a violent altercation at a KnokX pro wrestling event in Los Angeles, which landed him in legal trouble. However, former UFC champion Sean Strickland had some interesting views regarding Jackson’s future.

The 25-year-old was initially invited to make a guest appearance during the event. However, things quickly escalated after Jackson rushed into the ring between a fight and slammed Stuart Smith, a wrestler at KnokX, to the ground. In fact, there was a backstage misunderstanding between Smith and Raja backstage.

Despite verbally settling their differences, Raja was awarded a chance to get revenge in a scripted wrestling match. However, he landed a barrage of heavy punches to the face, leaving him unconscious. Strickland believed that Jackson was still young and does not deserve to go to prison for this.

Jackson’s kid shouldn’t go to jail. Prison should always be a last resort. I was arrested at 19 for two felony a GBIs. I would of spent 5 to 6 years in prison if the DA had its way. After 6 years in a cell coming out with nothing, being indoctrinated with gangs and violence. I guarantee I would of killed someone. There was one guy telling me about how he picked up a murder charge and I remembered being impressed by him. That would of been my future. Instead I plead and took 100 days jail or work release. A ton of anger management and a decent amount of victim restitution. After a miserable two years of court. My two cents…. Rehabilitation over prison always

Strickland believed that prison was not a good place for young people. Interfacing with his own experiences, ‘Tarzan’ revealed that being in prison affects the mind of the youth and changes them for the worse after they were released. He suggested that Jackson should be sent to rehabilitation or anger management rather than prison, which would allow him not to make the same mistake in the future.

Strickland has openly spoken about having a troubled past and mental health problems. In interviews and podcasts, he’s mentioned growing up in a violent and abusive household, getting into street fights as a teenager when he was younger. However, he believed that MMA gave him a new direction in life. Strickland was also recently suspended for six months due to his part in a brawl at an MMA event.

However, the incident has sparked significant outrage from the combat sports community as the situation has escalated. Smith, who is also known as Syko Stu, was an army veteran who had turned into a pro wrestler and was rushed to the hospital after the violent incident. His family revealed that he was stable, but needed constant care.

Wrestler who witnessed the incident revealed that Raja Jackson would have continued if the fight had not been broken up

The incident was an unfortunate occurrence and an example of unnecessary violence. The altercation was supposed to be scripted, but quickly went wrong due to Raja Jackson’s actions. Smith had mistaken Jackson for a wrestler and hit a prop can on his head, thinking it to be a promo before the incident.

However, after learning the truth, the army veteran apologized to Jackson and the two shook hands in agreement. Douglas Malo was a fellow wrestler and intervened in the altercation to stop Raja. As such, Malo recently spoke about the situation on the Scaling Up podcast.

Malo also revealed that Jackson had to be pulled off Smith’s unconscious body. He further revealed that Jackson had also punched him in the eye, while he had no intention to hurt the 25-year-old. Malo also revealed that things would have gotten way out of hand if other wrestlers did not intervene.

I think he would have f***ing killed him. I promise you he would have killed him. He would have killed me if he had gotten the best of me. If he would have gotten my legs form under me he would have done the same thing to me that he did to Stu.

Malo also revealed that he found Smith choking on his own blood and teeth with multiple broken facial bones after the incident. He also spoke about how the show was mismanaged, and audiences were visibly traumatized due to the incident. Malo also grilled Raja Jackson for playing the victim card after being separated an moved out of the arena

The Raja Jackson controversy highlights how a staged spectacle can spiral into a real-life tragedy when poor judgment and inexperience collide with the dangers of combat sports. What was meant to be entertainment turned into a violent assault that left Syko Stu hospitalized and the combat sports community shaken.
