An interesting trend has been observed in tennis. As per statistics, the search volume for ‘adult tennis lessons’ has gone up by a massive 245% following the release of Hollywood superstar Zendaya‘s tennis-based film Challengers.
Ever since the film was released on 18 April, there has been a noticeable spike in the search volume for adult tennis lessons. This comes out as an interesting trend as analysts try to find the reason. Among many, the release of this popular tennis-based film starring Zendaya is highlighted as one reason.
A video posted by Tennis Channel analyzes this trend and reveals the numbers. It also talks about the role of Zendaya’s film in this spike in search volume for this particular keyword. But the video also mentions that the release of Challengers is not the sole reason behind this spike.
As the United States Tennis Association (USTA) is pushing hard for its citizens to take up tennis lessons as the country celebrates National Tennis Month in May, the search volume for adult tennis lessons has gone up.
Zendaya’s Challengers receives all the praise
Zendaya‘s Challengers is making the right noise across the United States. A tennis-based romance thriller has been receiving all the praise ever since it was released on the big screen. Fans are fleeing to the theaters to watch Zendaya pull off an interesting role as a tennis prodigy who turns to coaching after her career is cut short.
Not just casual fans but tennis players are also rushing to watch the movie in theaters. American WTA star Coco Gauff was among the first ones to buy tickets for Zendaya’s new movie. The 19-year-old shared pictures of the movie tickets on her Instagram story when she went to the theater.
Gauff also shared a clip from the movie and tagged her coach Brad Gilbert who has a cameo role in the movie. It is worth mentioning that it was Gilbert who trained Zendaya for the tennis part of the movie. The Hollywood superstar credits him for that while Gilbert also praises Zendaya for her quick learning skills.
