Rafael Nadal will play his last professional tennis match at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga. Ahead of his farewell, his family members have changed their profile pictures to Nadal’s iconic logo, which has become a trend on Instagram in the last few days.

The 38-year-old is highly regarded as one of the best athletes of his generation and has established a legacy on the court that will be remembered for years to come. He claimed 22 Grand Slams and 14 of them came at the Roland Garros. Nadal remains the greatest clay court player in history having won 47 clay titles in his career.

Nadal is already in Malaga with the Spanish team ahead of their quarterfinal match against the Netherlands. He has been joined by Carlos Alcaraz, Pedro Martinez, Roberto Bautista Agut, and Marcel Granollers. The Mallorcan is the most experienced player on the team having won the Davis Cup in 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2019.

However, before the Davis Cup kicks off on November 19, Nadal’s family made a heartwarming gesture by changing their Instagram profile pictures to Nadal’s iconic Bull logo. The logo was created in 2013 and has become synonymous with his career.

It all started with Nadal’s uncle, Toni Nadal, who played a key role in shaping his career and also became his coach. His cousins Marta Nadal Vives and Joan Nadal joined in making the tribute emblem.

Sebastian Korda recently joined the trend by changing his Instagram profile picture ahead of Nadal’s final career tournament. The American has faced Nadal twice in his career (2020 Roland Garros and 2022 Indian Wells) and has lost both times.

Nadal and Spain have been the favorites to win the Cup, but an elimination in the quarterfinals will come as a big shock. Haarhuis said that his team will not be swayed by the sentiment and the huge support that the Spanish team has received because of Nadal’s retirement.

It’s amazing that it might be the last match that Nadal plays, and we hope to give him a nice adios. It’s the Davis Cup, anything can happen. We want more than being in the quarterfinals so we are going to have to play well and that’s what we focus on.

The 58-year-old has selected a well-experienced team to play Spain. Tallon Griekspoor, Wesley Koolhof, and Botic Van de Zandschulp are in the Netherlands’ team for the Davis Cup.
