Serena Williams teams up with Amazon Prime Video, announces documentary series called “Yours Truly”

Serena Williams is arguably the greatest ever tennis player in the history of the game. The American has twenty-three Grand-slam titles to her credit and is only one short of the record held by Margaret Court. But, of late her quest for the twenty fourth has been rather futile one and she has returned empty handed in the last four odd years. Her last major win was in 2017, the Australian Open. In the last few years though she has opened up a little bit on her personal life, and has allowed her fans to get to know her a little better.

As her success on the court has dwindled, Serena has found herself focusing more and more on commercial activities off the court. In the last few years she has been on the Board of Directors of Poshmark and Survey Monkey, Serena also has a jewelry line in her own name.
She, along with American rapper Jay Z, has an investment in Indonesian coffee-line Kopi Kenangan. Additionally, she has ownership in the aforementioned S by Serena clothing line and a capital firm known as Serena Ventures. The American also has investments in the American football team Miami Dolphins and in the UFC.
Continuing on the same path of exploring new commercial opportunities and finding new ways to connect with her fans, Serena has signed a deal with Amazon Prime Videos, under which she will develop scripted and unscripted projects. The documentary series on her is called “ Yours Truly” and will be the first project under the deal and will be produced by Plum Pictures, Goalhanger Films and Amazon Studios. The documentary series, whose release date is yet to be finalized, will be executive produced by Serena Williams, her coach Patrick Mouratoglou, Stuart Cabb, and Tony Pastor.
Serena Williams said, “I’m very excited to be partnering with Amazon Studios – they are developing some of the most inspiring and important content for a global audience,” Williams continued. “I have a lot of stories I’m eager to tell, including a continuation of my own, and I look forward to sharing those with the world.”
