Serena Williams is well into retirement and is currently enjoying her time with her kids, but still, the fans expect her to return to the court soon, and pounce on every message from the American. Recently, she posted a tweet on X, which the fans misinterpreted it as her return to tennis.
“I’m ready to hit some balls again,” Serena Williams had posted on X. Within no time, fans had flooded the comments section with speculations about her return. Turns out that she had just missed the sport a little more that day.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, the American cleared the air around this situation, saying that she shouldn’t have put it on X. She strongly stated that she is not coming back and had just missed playing tennis.
It wasn’t cryptic. I literally am ready to hit balls. I haven’t hit in a long time. It’s my life, and I love it and I miss it so much. I did learn I shouldn’t post it on Twitter, because people think I’m coming back, and I’m like, ‘No.‘

Nonetheless, the 23-time Singles Grand Slam champion is enjoying retirement, experiencing a new life other than tennis. Even though she misses the sport, Williams is excited about the change in routines.
Serena Williams reckons she could have gotten 30 Grand Slam titles easily
23-time Singles Grand Slam champion Serena Williams recently said that she doesn’t think about not getting a 24th title but felt that she could have won way more titles in her career given the form she was in before.
Never actually. I never do. Which is good, right? I had such an amazing career, and quite frankly, I should have had 30. I feel like I could have had way more than 24.added Serena Williams
She also mentioned that she had put too much pressure on herself, which did not allow her to reach the 24th title. After a dominating career, the American suffered 4 losses in Grand Slam finals in the latter phase, which she could have easily converted into titles. Nevertheless, she is happy with her career and enjoys the next phase of her life.
