In the post match interview after her quarter final victory, Jennifer Brady said that there was no doubt Serena Williams was the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time).
She went on to say that she hoped she got a chance to play Serena Williams before the champion hung up her boots. Brady revealed that growing up her favourite women’s tennis player was Kim Clijsters. Earlier she had also talked about how she had “tunnel vision” going into the third set in her quarter final match and how she “kept going” for her shots. Brady said that when she saw her opponent was tiring in the third set, it gave her a lot of confidence as she was feeling “physically good” at that point.
Jennifer Brady beats ‘good friend’ Jessica Pegula, reaches her first semi-finals
Earlier in the day, Brady defeated Pegula to book a place in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. This has been a great tournament for Brady so far. She has defeated players like Aliona Bolsova, Madison Brengle, Kaja Juvan, Donna Vekić, and finally Jessica Pegula.
Up next for her is the 25th seed Karolína Muchová of Czech Republic. Talking at the press conference Brady had complimented Muchová and said that she is “crafty”, “athletic” and has an all court game. She had added that she hoped it was a “ good, competitive “ game of tennis. If Brady wins against her, she will be a finalist of a Grand Slam. Some feat that!
