Venus Williams has finally tied the knot with Andrea Preti, and her sister Serena Williams couldn’t be happier. Following Venus’ wedding, Serena took to her Instagram to post a heartfelt message for her ‘built-in best friend’ as the latter steps into the next chapter of her life.

Preti was born in Denmark in 1988, and as a teenager, he moved to Italy with his family. He worked as a model in Italy and also as an actor and producer. The 37-year-old wrote and directed the 2014 movie, One More Day, and acted in the film as well. He also starred in Temptation (2023) and the Italian television series Professor.

Venus and Preti were first linked in July last year. As in one of the pictures, she was also spotted with a diamond ring on that finger, rumours about her engagement started spreading. The tennis great, earlier this season, confirmed that she was indeed engaged to Preti.

The 45-year-old confirmed about the same during her comeback match at the Citi Open, where she registered a first-round win over compatriot Peyton Stearns. They got engaged on January 31 this year.

In August this year, Serena told Today that she and Venus were “planning lots of different parties and events“, which was “actually overwhelming“, so much so that she even told Venus, “One more thing that you want me to do and I’m done. That’s it.” And on December 23, Serena shared a few adorable pictures from the wedding.

My sister’s keeper. Venus, where do I even begin? From the backyard courts to the biggest stages in the world, you’ve always led with grace, strength, and a heart bigger than any trophy. Watching you step into this next chapter surrounded by love felt like watching the sun rise…steady, powerful, and full of promise.

Serena Williams wrote

Serena married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in 2017. They have two daughters, Olympia and Adira River.

You’ve been my built-in best friend, my protector, my teacher, and my reminder to always walk in purpose. Seeing you this happy, this loved, this radiant… it means everything to me. To love, to partnership, to laughter, and to a lifetime of choosing each other every single day. I couldn’t be prouder to stand beside you, not just today, but always.

Serena Williams added

Venus and Preti got married twice. They first tied the knot in Italy back in September this year. Their second ceremony was held on December 19 in West Palm Beach.

Oh, both would be amazing. I think I would go with a personalized coaching session. But then also to play doubles with Serena would be so cool.

Amanda Anisimova said

Williams called time on her career after her defeat in the third round of the 2022 US Open. Sharapova hung up her racket in 2020.

Anisimova produced her best performance this season as she made it to five finals, winning two titles. The titles she won were both WTA 1000s at the Qatar Open and the China Open by defeating Jelena Ostapenko and Linda Noskova, respectively.

She also made it to the final of Wimbledon and the US Open, losing both to Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, respectively. Anisimova reached the final of the Queen’s Club Championships, losing the match to Tatjana Maria.

The next major event is the Australian Open, where Anisimova has never progressed beyond the fourth round. This year, her campaign ended in the second round.
