WATCH: Serena Williams visits the ‘Walt Disney World’ with family

Serena Williams last played on tour at the Australian Open 2021 where she suffered a Semi-final thumping at the hands of Naomi Osaka. A straight set loss, 3-6 4-6. Post that loss, which hurt Williams emotionally, she took a break from the tour. Her next tournament was supposed to be the Miami Open but she withdrew as she couldn’t recover in time from an oral surgery that she had undergone. 

Patrick Mouratoglou, coach of Williams, has revealed that the tennis superstar will return to the WTA Tour at the Italian Open in Rome before playing the French Open. It may be worth mentioning here that Serena Williams won her last Grand Slam, number 23, at the Australian Open in 2017, and has been striving to win the record equaling 24th one for four years now.

Serena Williams has been enjoying some quality family. She was seen visiting the Walt Disney World with husband Alexis and daughter Olympia. At the park, she took part in a Walt Disney World Minute. She said ‘Epcot’ is her favourite theme park, ‘Flight of Passage’ is her favourite attraction, and most importantly ‘Whole New World’ is her favorite Disney karaoke song.

This was not the first visit for Serena , she had in fact visited Disney World in 2016 as well. Back then she had said that she loved the place because she can be like a kid here and have an amazing time, and meet princesses too. Serena Williams had said,  “You can’t beat Disney World, it’s just the best place to come—you can be a kid—you can be yourself—you can just have an amazing time and you get to meet princesses.”
