Serena Williams has expressed her disappointment at missing Rafael Nadal’s retirement announcement. The 43-year-old also revealed the reason for missing the tennis legend’s emotional announcement via social media.

Nadal announced his decision to end his two-decade-long career at the Davis Cup Finals in November. He has already been added to the Spanish team alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreno Busta, and Roberto Bautista Agut.

Williams was pretty silent when Nadal made his retirement announcement due to health reasons. She has now shared an update on her health status with her fans, adding that she underwent an MRI for a lump in her neck in May.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion is currently receiving treatment for it and recovering well. During the recovery, she revealed that she also missed the Glamour Magazine Woman of the Year award event.
