Serena Williams attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics with her husband, Alexis Ohanian. She dazzled on the red carpet in a striking red midi dress.

It is a different role for the four-time Olympic gold medalist, who used to come to the Olympic games as the front runner for the USA to win the gold medal. However, her tennis career is over now, and she is there to support her fellow competitors and athletes.

It’s fun! I mean the Olympics in Paris is really, really incredible--I don’t know if it’s fun or if I’m a little jealous. I did do the London-Wimbledon combination but there’s a little jealousy here.

Williams might be missing her professional tennis playing days, but no one can tarnish what she has achieved in the game, particularly at the Olympics. She has won four Olympic gold medals throughout her career, three in doubles and one in singles.

On the other hand, her sister Venus, has won five Olympic medals, with four of them being gold. On the current USA side, Coco Gauff is carrying the hopes for a gold medal at the Paris Olympics as she looks to emulate the WTA tennis legends.

The history of Serena Williams at the Olympic Games

Serena Williams has achieved remarkable success in Olympic tennis, with a notable record of four gold medals. Her first Olympic gold came in 2000 at the Sydney Games, where she and her sister Venus Williams won the gold medal in women’s doubles. The duo defeated the Netherlands’ Kristie Boogert and Miriam Oremans 6-1, 6-1 in the Gold medal match.

Williams’ Olympic success continued with another gold medal in women’s doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In this event, Serena and Venus again demonstrated their formidable skills and teamwork, securing their second gold medal in doubles. The USA duo regained the doubles Olympic gold by beating Spain’s Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual in the final 6-2, 6-0.

Serena’s singles success at the Olympics was achieved at the 2012 London Games, where she comfortably beat Maria Sharapova in the Gold Medal match. The score was 6-0, 6-1, which pretty much said everything about the lopsidedness of their rivalry during their tennis careers.

In addition to her singles victory, Williams secured her third gold medal in women’s doubles at the 2012 London Olympics, making it a double gold year for her. The magnificent Williams sisters defended their medals by overcoming Czech Republic’s Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká in the final, 6–4, 6–4.
