Serena Williams’ eight-part documentary ‘In The Arena: Serena Williams’ with ESPN+ is set to be released on July 10th. The American superstar hinted at what her fans can expect from this in an interview with the New York Times.

Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova have faced off 22 times, and the former has emerged victorious in 20 encounters. Serena had won their first ever match in 2004, but Sharapova won the next two that year. Following this, Serena did not lose to her Russian rival even once in over fifteen years, stacking up 19 victories in a row.

As the docuseries is unreleased, the interviewer was only shown glimpses of the first couple of episodes and had not watched the third one.

Serena admits that she would have continued to play too, had she not wanted to slow down and start a family.

Venus loves tennis. I think the question would be best answered by her. I do not want to speak for her. But we both love tennis. Honestly, I feel like I would still be playing if I didn’t have to stop and have a family.
