Juventus clinched a comprehensive 4-1 victory against Spezia in Serie A. Moreover, this win propelled them to 2nd spot in the table behind AC Milan. Cristiano Ronaldo got two goals on his return to the team after recovering from coronavirus. Spezia managed to give a fight to Juve in the first half but once Ronaldo came on the match went Juve’s way.

First Half

Juventus started well and got the first goal through a Morata tap in from a Mckennie pass. Morata went through a nervous wait as VAR checked for possible offside but the goal was given. The player had a sigh of relief after having goals chalked off for offside against Barcelona. However, Spezia got a goal back through Pobega from a deflected shot. Spezia continued to frustrate Juventus and kept the score at 1-1.

Second Half

Ronaldo

Pirlo sent on Ronaldo in the second half as Juventus looked to win the match. Cristiano duly delivered and got the goal by rounding the goalkeeper after receiving a pass from Morata. Rabiot got the next goal for Juve as he danced past the Spezia defense and scored. Ronaldo got another goal to wrap up the match from a penalty after Chiesa was fouled in the box.

Ronaldo looked pumped to be back while Juventus badly missed his presence in the previous matches. Pirlo agreed and said post match, “We changed our system a bit, we knew Arthur would have been more free to play a little behind. Ronaldo is improving and we were waiting for him. Both him and Dybala are improving, let’s see how everyone feels in the coming days. We played a good match in the second half. We were well placed on the pitch with the desire to win and Ronaldo gave us a hand.”
