Serie A adventure for Dani Olmo? Barcelona star attracts interest from AC Milan

Barcelona are struggling to re-register Dani Olmo and the player can leave for free to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

Corriere della Sera via Milan Eye reports that AC Milan is very interested in signing FC Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. It is not yet sure at the moment as to what the structure of the deal will be. However, the report states the Serie A club wanting to secure the signing of the Spaniard for a short-term contract till the end of the season before he returns back to the Blaugrana and gets registered.

Olmo was a La Masia prospect, but has really grown into a star during his time at RB Leipzig. However, he has suffered many injury issues during his tenure in Germany. There was no denying the class and talent that he possesses. Hence, Barcelona signed their former player in the summer of 2024. He started the season with a bang and then missed quite a number of games due to a muscle injury.

The Spaniard has scored six goals and registered one assist in the 15 matches that he has played for the club in all competitions. He has been a very crucial player for the Blaugrana side, playing in the attacking midfielder role and is sensational in the spaces between the lines. However, his future with the club is not sure currently.

Barca have struggled with financial problems, and as January kicked off, they had to de-register Olmo and Pau Victor. La Liga has not approved Olmo and Victor’s registration, and the deadline for that has also passed. Many European clubs are impressed with the talent that Olmo has and want to sign him on a short-term deal till the summer. However, it looks like AC Milan will be the one to sign the Barcelona star.

AC Milan are in need of a creative attacking midfielder and are looking into the transfer market for options. Christian Pulisic has been sensational playing in that position, but the Serie A club needs more options. Pulisic can play in his natural position in the wings if Olmo signs for Milan.

The Barcelona star has piqued the interest of the Serie A giants, but the deal that they are planning to offer is surprising. They want to sign the playmaker for free till the summer before he returns to Barcelona to sign a new contract.
