Serie A: Napoli vs Venezia Player Ratings as Napoli claim hard-fought 2-0 win over Venezia
Serie A: Napoli vs Venezia
Lorenzo Insigne and Elif Elmas got on the scoresheet for Napoli as they claimed their 11th win in 13 Serie A games. The 2-0 victory against newly promoted Venezia saw newly appointed manager Luciano Spalletti picked up his first win in almost two years. The game was emotionally charged with a total of 8 yellow cards and a red card shown.
The first half saw Napoli striker Viktor Osimhenent off following a shove on Daan Heymans. However, despite the man advantage, Venezia failed to gain a foothold as they conceded early in the second half before going on to lose the game 2-0.
That said, here are the player ratings from the game.
SSC Napoli
Alex Meret (7/10)
The Napoli goalkeeper showed great composure between the sticks and thwarted attacks from the likes of Heymans and Forte.
Mario Rui (5/10)
Had a problem on and off dealing with Venezia winger Dennis Johnson. Despite this, he put in a solid shift at left full-back.
Kalidou Koulibaly (6/10)
The Napoli center-back was solid for the most part and managed to keep the opposition at bay. Needless to say, his form has continued from the previous season.
