Federico Chiesa signed for Liverpool last summer from Juventus after he fell out of favour. Under the chaperonage of Thiago Motta, Chiesa hardly found himself with the minutes that he was looking forward to. However, his shift to Liverpool was expected to bring in the good times, and much to his woes, it didn’t happen.

Federico Chiesa has been plagued by injury issues at Anfield and has only managed 123 minutes cumulatively in the season so far. More importantly, Arne Slot, the Liverpool boss, hasn’t exactly been impressed with the Italian. Amidst the growing friction, rumours have materialized that ACF Fiorentina might be eyeing a remarkable swoop for the Italian star.

Italian publication FirenzeViola has reported that Chiesa’s erstwhile side is interested in bringing in the former on loan in January. The report also suggested that the rumours surfacing about this transfer aren’t fantasy but shockingly real. Going by the report, if Fiorentina does try and swoop Chiesa in, the move might go well for Liverpool.

Despite all the green lights, the only problem that might come in the way is that Chiesa’s massive salary at Anfield. If he is being brought onboard by Fiorentina, then the Italian striker might have to take a significant paycut. As things stand, it is highly unlikely that Chiesa might find himself a place in the Liverpool side that will be hosting Manchester United on January 5th.

Arne Slot confirms Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘committed’ to playing for Liverpool

There have been links between one of Liverpool’s most seasoned campaigners, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Real Madrid in recent times. Speculations keep on growing that Los Blancos will be going all guns blazing for the English right-back. Amidst growing injury concerns for Real Madrid, the Spanish stalwarts have pointed out TAA as the perfect fit. However, snubbing all hearsay, Arne Slot has made it clear that the English international is fully committed to playing for Liverpool.

I see him [Alexander-Arnold] on the training ground every day working his a** off. He is fully committed to us and he will play on Sunday.

Slot further said that he has talked with the players and Alexander-Arnold himself. However, he is not willing to reveal any of the discussions that have been held in confidence. He wanted the conversations to be left at rest and also assured the fact that the Real Madrid approach won’t have any ‘destabilising’ effect on the Liverpool pro.
