Serie A: Verona vs Inter Milan Player Ratings as Suber sub Joaquin Correa bags brace on debut
Serie A: Verona vs Inter Milan
Joaquin Correa had a debut to remember as defending champions Inter Milan clinched a stunning come-from behind win in match day 2 of the Serie A 2021/22 season. Having lost Romelu Lukaku to a record transfer, the Nerazzuri invested in Lazio’s Joaquin Correa, who scored a late brace to clinch a vital three points for Simone Inzhagi’s side against Hellas Verona. The scores were deadlocked as the teams entered the final 10 minutes of the game, but Correa put up a show to take his team to victory.
Hellas Verona
Lorenzo Montipò (6/10): Had a decent day in goal, but nothing out of the spectacular as Verona conceded thrice)
Giangiacomo Magnani (7/10): One of the key defenders. His substitution proved to be fatal in the end.

Federico Ceccherini (6/10): Struggled to cope with Inter’s attack and was eventually substituted.
Davide Faraoni (6/10): With Hakan Calhanoglu and Ivan Perisic on his side, Faraoni was stretched before he was taken off with 15 minutes left to play.
Martin Hongla (7/10): Was one of the key players in the middle of the park and had a good shift against Inter.
Ivan Ilic (8/10): Hellas Verona’s goal scorer enjoyed a good outing on an individual level, and was certainly their standout player.
Darko Lazovic (6/10): The left wing back struggled to keep up with Darmian and Lautaro Martinez running around him.
Antonio Barak (6/10): Made some good runs into the box, but had little service to make it count.
Mattia Zaccagni (7/10): Was bright with his overall passing and presence.
Matteo Cancellieri (6/10): Was an isolated presence in the final third, and made way for Lasagna around the hour mark.

Pawel Dawidowicz: NA

Milan Skriniar (6/10): Solid in defence, enjoyed a decent outing despite the Ilic goal. Stefan De Vrij (7/10): Commanded the area well and enjoyed a solid game again. Alessandro Bastoni (7/10): Youngster continues impressive form, was in fine touch against Verona.
Matteo Darmian (8/10): One of Inter’s best performers, the ex-Man Utd man was a constant threat with his delivery and deep runs on the right. [Text Wrapping Break]Nicolo Barella(7/10): Controlled the midfield effectively, in yet another assured performance.
Marcelo Brozovic (7/10): Sitting in front of the defence, Brozovic screened threats from Verona well and put in a good shift.

Ivan Perisic (7/10): Deployed as wing-back, Perisic had a solid performance and was an instrumental presence throughout the game.
