Even after battling through tough competition to secure a spot in Super Bowl LX, doubts remain about the New England Patriots’ ability to take home the ultimate prize. To be fair, they will face off against the Seattle Seahawks, a team that boasts one of the best defenses in the NFL.
The latest name to undermine the Patriots is longtime Chicago Bears fan and WWE superstar Seth Rollins. Appearing on Monday’s segment of First Take on ESPN, Rollins boldly predicted that the Seahawks are a far superior team to the Patriots and will have no trouble defeating them at Levi’s Stadium on February 8.
Let’s be real here, guys. … [The Seahawks] are going to blow the roof off that stadium. They are going to blow out the New England Patriots. It’s not going to be close.
Seth Rollins declared
And why does Rollins think that?
There’s no chance that the Patriots can keep up with the Seahawks on offense; I just don’t see that happening. I am excited to see it, but that’s my prediction of the game… a route.
Rollins quipped
"Let's be real here guys. … [The Seahawks] are going to blow out the New England Patriots." 👀

Seattle took down the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game over the weekend. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 374 yards on 22 completions, with 3 touchdowns. Darnold has had a season to remember. In his first year in Seattle, Darnold completed 67.7% of his passes for 4,048 yards, threw 25 TD passes and 14 interceptions, and earned his second Pro Bowl nod.
Darnold’s best target across the 17 games was wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Nijgba. The Ohio State graduate caught 10 passes for 153 yards and scored a touchdown against the Rams. He only needs 36 yards in the Super Bowl to cross the 2000-yard threshold.
Seattle’s offense may be solid, but it’s the defense that New England needs to fear the most. According to FOX Sports data, the Seahawks have the greatest scoring defense (17.2 points per game and just 31 touchdowns allowed this season) and the best rushing defense (91.9 yards allowed on the ground).
Pair those jaw-dropping stats with 2.6 sacks (average), and the Seahawks can flat out restrict Drake Maye and the Patriots.
Mike Vrabel’s Patriots won’t back down without a fight in Super Bowl
It’s tough to sustain a dynasty like the Patriots when the anchorman is no longer in the building. After Tom Brady ditched Boston for sunny Tampa, the Patriots crumbled into purgatory. Quarterbacks came and went until Maye entered the frame in 2024. Next, the higher-ups appointed Mike Vrabel, a former linebacker who previously coached the Titans for a few years.

The Patriots went 14-3 in Vrabel’s first year. In the postseason, they took care of the Chargers, Texans, and Broncos, three defense-heavy teams. Vrabel became the first coach to lead an NFL team to the Super Bowl after winning fewer than five games in the previous season.
Just so happy for Mike Vrabel, a former teammate of mine. Went to New England; no one was quite sure how they’d do. Back-to-back 4-13 seasons, and they turn into a road AFC victory in Denver. I know how hard that is. Josh McDaniels has done an incredible job as coordinator. Drake Maye, that defense. This is going to be a hell of a Super Bowl matchup.

Maye is following in the footsteps of the seven-time Super Bowl winner. He is the first Patriots quarterback since Brady to throw 4000+ passing yards, win a conference title game, and qualify for the Super Bowl.
