Seth Rollins has been with WWE for over 15 years at this point. From making waves as part of the Shield to breaking up that faction and going on to make a separate name for himself, he has truly established himself as a modern-day great.

Rollins made a bunch of lifelong companions along the way, and he has singled out a former WWE star whom he’s been missing lately. In an interview with CBR, ‘The Visionary’ revealed it as no one else but Claudio Castagnoli, who was better known to the WWE fans as Cesaro.

Rollins said that he hasn’t seen the current AEW star in a long time. ‘The Architect’ could possibly be referring to not having met Castagnoli in person for a while.

You know who I miss? This is a weird one. I miss Claudio. I haven’t seen Claudio in a long time. I feel like it’s been too long. I talk to him all the time, but I haven’t seen him, been in his presence. I miss Claudio. Fellow coffee enthusiast. We keep in touch via the coffee texts with John [Cena], but it’s just not the same.

Rollins revealed that they talk quite often and regularly exchange “coffee texts” in a group chat, also including John Cena. Rollins said that Castagnoli is a massive coffee enthusiast like him.

‘The Visionary’ added that even though they keep in touch via texts, it’s not the same as physical meetups, which do appear to have vanished since ‘The Swiss Superman’ left WWE and joined AEW in June 2022.

It’s obvious that both superstars have completely different work schedules according to their standing in their respective companies. While Seth Rollins, a top-tier star for WWE, is currently sidelined due to a shoulder injury, Claudio Castagnoli hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since competing at the Worlds End PPV on December 27 last year.

Speaking of whether Rollins and Castagnoli ever had a major feud in WWE, they actually did. The Chicago Bears superfan was involved in a heated rivalry with the 2-time ROH World Champion, which culminated in their singles match at WrestleMania 37. At the marquee event, the Swiss wrestler scored the biggest win of his career by beating the 6-time world champion in a highly entertaining showdown.

Seth Rollins talks about WWE banning his curb stomp finisher for some time

Seth Rollins hasn’t been able to keep the same finishing move throughout his WWE career for reasons discussed below. Back in his days with The Authority faction, he used to put his opponents away with the Curb Stomp. Why did he stop using it?

As revealed by himself in an interview with Complex Sports, the Iowa native was pulled aside by Vince McMahon in his office, where the former WWE Chairman informed the 39-year-old that he couldn’t continue using the Curb Stomp.

After learning that McMahon wanted Rollins to adopt the frog splash as his finisher, the ex-Vision leader outright objected to it, as Rollins was concerned about the toll those splashes would take on his elbows and knees if performed so frequently. Then started the hunt for Rollins’ new finisher, and it ended when ‘The Architect’ pitched using the pedigree, as no one other than Triple H had used it as the finisher.

‘The Visionary’ revealed that even ‘The Game’ was hesitant about letting him use it, but Rollins eventually received the nod to do so. He quipped that maybe the WWE CCO hates seeing some wrestlers kick out of the pedigree these days, but it worked around the time when Rollins started using The Cerebral Assassin’s best shot almost a decade ago.

The fans liked Rollins adding that maneuver to his repertoire, which had a 20-year equity to it already, with ‘Hunter’ having popularized the move in his heyday. The erstwhile ‘Monday Night Messiah’ resumed using the Curb Stomp as his finisher in early 2018 after WWE lifted its temporary ban on it.
