Shai-Gilgeous Alexander leaves $44 million teammate stunned with performance against Warriors
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 52-point outing against the Golden State Warriors had not just fans, but his teammates in awe as well.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stuns teammate Chet Holmgren with incredible stats on Wednesday
The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander show was on full display at the Chase Center. The dynamic Oklahoma City Thunder guard put on a show, dropping 52 points on 16-29 shooting and 18-21 on free throws. However, his efforts were not enough, as the Golden State Warriors came out on top with a 116-109 victory. But that did not stop his teammate Chet Holmgren from taking notice of the performance.
As the game kicked off, Gilgeous-Alexander started off the game on fire, scoring 21 of his 52 points in the first quarter alone. He would continue his heroics in the 2nd quarter, adding another 10 points to end the first half with a whopping 31 points. Chet Holmgren quickly took notice of his teammate’s performance with a series of tweets in the spectacle of his teammate. “Just turned the game on I wonder if I missed anything,” Holmgren cheekily tweeted.

Holmgren was shocked to see his teammate’s utter dominance on the court, especially as he had not been travelling along with the team on their current road trip. The sophomore big man is still in the midst of recovering from a crushing hip injury that derailed a strong start to the season for him. He had suffered the injury during a Nov. 10 matchup with the Dubs this season.
As for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, he continues to climb the MVP ladder dropping dominant performances time and time again. He set his career high in points just 3 games ago with a 54-point outing against the Utah Jazz. He followed it up with his second career fifty-point game on Wednesday, which was his massive game against the Warriors.
Steven Kerr left speechless after Shai Gilgeous-Alexanders performance
It wasn’t just the fans who were left confused trying to figure out how to guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander but also Warriors HC Steve Kerr. The veteran coach had high praise for SGA after the game, detailing how the Warriors did not have an answer for Alexander’s offensive brilliance throughout the game.

SGA’s 31-point outburst in the first half marked just the 4th time that a Thunder player had scored 30 or more points in the first half in the play-by-play era of statistics (1997-98). It was his second time achieving those figures this season, dropping 31 in his career-high performance against the Utah Jazz earlier this week as well.
On the Warriors’ end of the ball, the team was led in scoring by Andrew Wiggins, who scored 27 points in the game. Even so, it was a team effort across the board from Stephen Curry, Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II to combine with Wiggins as the top 4 scorers for the team, securing the season series against the Thunder with 2 wins in 3 matchups.
